Butter London Launches a Makeup Line: Rock Your Colour

When I hear the name butter LONDON, the first word that comes to mind is nail-polish. For years, butter LONDON has been recognized as one of the leaders in the nail-polish industry; however, they do not only make awesome nail-polishes. Recently, butter LONDON launched their very own makeup line. Their first collection is called Rock Your Colour, and it was created with the help and guidance of their Color Ambassador, Katie Jane Hughes, a professional celebrity make-up artists that has worked behind the scenes of a vast number of fashion shows.

During Katie's visit to San Diego, I got to speak with her about the inspiration behind the line. Katie mentioned that butter London definitely wanted to stay true to who they are, which is a company that sells quality products that are paraben-free. In other words, products that will not damage your skin or health.

For this collection Katie was inspired by her work behind the scenes of fashion shows, where makeup artists have to constantly work under pressure. With that in mind, they sought to create products that were versatile, and that would serve multiple functions. The blushes in the Rock Your Colour collection can be used on the lips, and the mascara can be used as eyeliner (yes! the mascara!). When she tried the blue mascara as an eyeliner on my eyes, it felt like a gel liner consistency, and it was super pigmented. It lasted for the rest of that day.

Overall, I'm really excited to see how butter LONDON evolves as a makeup company. Like their nailpolishes, the Rock Your Colour collections is vibrant and has unique colors. I cannot wait to see what their next collections will look like.

Cuando escucho la palabra butter LONDON, lo primero que me viene a la mente son esmaltes. Por años butter LONDON a sido reconozido como uno de los líderes en la industria de los esmaltes. Sin embargo, no solo hacen increibles barnizes. Recientemente, butter LONDON lanzo su propia linea de cosmeticos. Esta coleccion, llamada Rock Your Colour, fue creada con la ayuda de su embajadora de color Katie Jane Hugues, una maquillista reconocida por su trabajo con celebridades y eventos de moda.

Durante la visita de Katie a San Diego tube la oportunidad de platicar con ella respecto a la inspiracion detras de la creacion de esta linea. Ella menciono que butter LONDON, antes que nada, queria asegurarse de brindarle a sus clientas la misma promesa que con sus esmaltes, la de crear productos libres de parabenos. En pocas palabras, productos que no dañen tu piel, ni tu salud.

Para esta colección, Katie se inspiro en su experiencia detrás de los escenarios en las pasarelas de moda, donde los maquillistas tienen que trabajar bajo presion. Con eso en mente, butter London y ella buscaron crear productos que fueran versátiles, y que tuvieran varias funciones. Katie me enseño que lo rubores en crema podian funcionar como labiales, y que los rimels de color podian funcionar como delineadores. El dia que platique con ella, me aplico el rimel azul como delineador y me gusto mucho la concistecia. Se sintio como la de un delineador en gel, y me duro por el resto del dia.

En conclusion, me emociona mucho ver la evolucion de butter LONDON como compañia. Como sus esmaltes, esta coleccion de Rock Your Colour es vibrante y tiene colores únicos. Me muero por ver las siguientes colecciones.
